have served ...on the SBRF vessels to meet with CSTR members/volunteers
who are working to take one or more of these vessels to create
artificial reefs off California's coastline. The one thing we share is
helping these vessels to continue to serve in a new capacity for up to
100 years, and in some cases more. Please join us for this event, get

YEAR-END VOLUNTEER & FUNDRAISING DRIVE
As is the case with many non-profit organizations across the country, California Ships to Reefs has launched its Year-End Volunteer/Fundraising campaign. We know that this has been a difficult year for many, including many of us and our friends. CSTR would like all our 2009 spons...ors, donors, and volunteers to know how greatly we appreciate their continuing support for our efforts to enhance California’s coastal environment, and the economic situations of our coastal communities.
While monetary donations are certainly critical to any non-profit organization, CSTR would like our supporters to know that there are many other ways they can provide assistance to the organization. Supporters can also make tax-deductible donations in the forms of personal property, real estate, vehicles, or boats. CSTR participates in several public events throughout the year such as the Fred Hall Fishing Tackle & Boat Shows, and the annual SCUBA Show sponsored by California Dive News. Business owners and manufacturers can contribute goods to be used as silent auction prizes, awards, and other gifts for participants in these events.
First and foremost, California Ships to Reefs is an entirely volunteer-based organization. If a donation of funds or material goods is not possible, supporters are heartily encouraged to volunteer their time with any of our hard-working committees. 2009 has been an incredible year of advancement towards our ultimate goal of creating artificial reefs, and more than ever we need the help of volunteers committed to seeing California’s coastal environments and communities improved as never before.
Finally, the motto of CSTR has always been "Loose Lips Sink Ships!" Please tell your friends and family about our volunteer/fundraising drive. Help us raise volunteers and resources needed for our ongoing projects like baseline studies, towing vessels to cleaning sites, permitting expenses, and all the details that go into a project.

This event starts December 1, 2009 and runs through midnight December 31, 2009. All donations are tax-deductible. Receipts will be provided upon request.

This event will take place on April 10, 2010 at the Walnut Creek Marriott at 2355 North Main Street.

10am - 4pm Hospitality Suite in the Concierge Lounge
1pm - 3pm SBRF Tour at Bay View Charters @ Martinez Marine, 7 North Court St.
6pm - 9pm Banquet in the Contra Costa Ballroom

Hotel only activities - $89/person
SBRF Tour only - $30/person
Complete Event - $119/person
Accommodations
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Walnut Creek Marriott. Two
doubles or single king rooms are $89/night + tax. These rooms will be
on the same floor and near the Concierge Lounge for easy access to the
all-day hospitality suite. To make your reservations, please contact

with California Ships to Reefs. We will also have an online
reservation link on our website soon.
Deadline
In order to obtain these excellent prices we have a January 13th
deadline. So contact the hotel immediately to secure your rooms, and

This bill will encourage the State of California and local ports to allow and support the placement of artificial reefs in their jurisdictions. The State of California and local governments need this bill so they can participate in this important movement to restore sustainable economies to California's historic ports and add or restore some of the habitat which has been lost in the ocean environment.
