Bowen Thomas-LundinThis movie was about a single person's experience of both life and death, his own, and hers. The modern day story line is what really happened, the actual events. The other two took place within his mind and soul.
The Conquistador story line was about his obsession with life, but mostly death, it was his obsession with ...saving his wife. It became, ultimately, self-destructive.
The journey in the bubble was about his own journey through life. It began with him attempting to take the tree (his wife) to a place where it can survive (finding a cure). Only after the tree started dying did he realize that it was not about living on, not about 'curing death', but about rebirth, and that in order to be with his wife, he needs to let go, of everything, and be reborn.
Anyway, this is how I see it, and I hope that others see it their own way as well.
